Dubuque Mulch Company offers natural hardwood mulch and color enhanced mulch. Mulch is a perfect solution to a wide variety of landscaping needs. It provides contrast in your landscape, works ideally for moisture retention and weed suppression, and decomposes over time to make an excellent soil amendment.
natural/non-dyed products
High quality hardwood mulch, golden brown in color and shredded to 3 to 4 inches. Our single processed is created from different species of hardwood trees, and is a mix of wood fiber and bark. It consists of long stringy fibers and works well for moisture retention and soil erosion.
Premium hardwood mulch, aged to a natural dark brown color, and processed to 1 – 2 inches. A bark heavy product, our double processed mulch decomposes over time to make an excellent soil amendment. This is our most popular natural/non dyed product.
Our cedar mulch is made from the Eastern red cedar tree, which is native to this region. It is reddish blond in color, aromatic, and acts as a natural insecticide. Cedar mulch is ideal for perennial flowerbeds.
A 100% bark product harvested from red oak trees on-site at Midwest Hardwoods. Our red oak material is taken directly from the mill’s debarker, creating a substantial variance in particle size and shape. Red Oak has a natural reddish, brown color, and will decompose and darken over time.
Our chips are harvested from a variety of hardwood species and processed on –site at Midwest Hardwoods. The benefits of hardwood chips include, promoting soil fertility, weed suppression, and moisture retention. They are also a cost effective option for ground cover.
Our certified playground chips are wheelchair and impact test approved, and meet all ASTM specifications and standards. Playground chips are natural, clean, safe, and ideal for play areas, walking paths, and kennels.
A mixture of decayed plants and other organic material perfect for gardening and enriching soil. Our compost supplier participates in the US Composting Council’s Seal of Testing Assurance Program on a prescribed basis, and relevant technical data sheets are available.
